Dear Parent/Guardians,
Re: Adjustments Regarding Public Health Notifications
As COVID-19 cases are on the rise in Prince Albert and area, as well as the province, there have been
recent adjustments to the manner in which Public Health provides notifications at it relates to positive
cases and close contact information.
When a positive case is identified in an individual(s), connected directly to schools, the Saskatchewan
Health Authority (SHA) will notify the individuals that have tested positive. Public Health personnel will
also contact the school division with instructions for the class/cohort(s). This may include an order to
isolate the entire class/cohort(s). Personnel from both the SHA and the school division will work closely to
inform pertinent individuals and classes/cohort(s) with instructions.
This information and correspondence, from the Saskatchewan Health Authority, will be communicated
directly to the impacted individuals/ class/cohorts(s) as well as will be posted in the Edsby Parent and
Student Portal. The directions could include isolation of the entire cohort/class(s).
To inform the larger school community, a letter will be posted regarding a potential exposure and related
implications via the Student and Parent Portal (Edsby) and school division website.
We remind everyone entering schools to monitor for any signs or symptoms of COVID-19. Refer to the
Daily Self-Assessment Checklist. Please complete the Daily Self-Assessment Checklist before attending
school each day.
If you/your child has any symptoms of COVID-19, please call HealthLine at 811 and remain at home. If
medical attention is required, please call ahead to your health care provider. If it is an emergency
requiring urgent attention, call 911.
Thank you for your ongoing support and diligence. Stay safe.
Yours truly,
L. Trumier,
Director of Education
