Assessment of Risk to Others (ARTO)
The Prince Albert Catholic School Division is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all staff, clients, students, and community members, and as such, is a member of the Prince Albert and Area Community Threat Assessment and Support Protocol. Our Principals and Vice-Principals receive training developed by the Centre for Trauma Informed Practice to lead a process called Assessment of Risk to Others (ARTO). This training has led to the development of a community protocol to help protect students from potential threats to safety or serious harm. The protocol helps schools to assess risk of threat and respond to threatening incidents.
In November 2012, a Risk Assessment Community Protocol was signed indicating that community partners would work together to help our community and schools be safe. In In 2015 and 2024 the protocol was resigned with new partners joining the protocol.
The protocol partners include:
Prince Albert Catholic School Division
Saskatchewan Rivers Public School Division
Catholic Family Services of Prince Albert, Inc.
Child and Family Programs, Ministry of Social Services
Parkland Ambulance Care
Prince Albert Fire Department
Prince Albert Police Service
Conseil des écoles fransaskoises
