RE: STF Sanctions for Week of April 8 to April 12, 2024
Dear Parents/Guardians, Students, and Staff,
On Friday, April 5, 2024, the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation (STF) announced, until further notice, indefinite provincewide job action to include:
- Withdrawal of voluntary professional services,
- Restricted work day for STF members,
- Withdrawal of noon period supervision,
- Withdrawal of extracurricular activities, and
- Withdrawal of other voluntary services
As a result, many aspects of our school operations and educational planning will be significantly impacted in the coming days and weeks, including but not limited to the impact on transportation services, student support services, lunch periods and school hours. Please monitor Edsby notifications and our school division website, www.pacsd.ca, for possible further announcements.
Schools will only be open 15 minutes before the instructional day begins and closed 15 minutes after the instructional day ends. Parents/Guardians, please ensure your child(ren) does not arrive early or remain late. There will be no supervision. Parents will be responsible to make provisions for their children as schools will be closed within 15 min after school.
This is the plan for the week of April 8 to April 12, 2024. Future adjustments to schedules may need to occur. Any further operational adjustment updates will be provided as information becomes available.

Parents are reminded that teacher sanctions could take various forms and operations may need to shift accordingly, including but not limited to, half-day/full-day strikes, rotating strikes or school closures. Should any of these eventualities occur, the Board of Education will notify students and parents as far in advance as possible to ensure the safety and well-being of our children/youth. Parents will be required to make adjustments. The Board of Education for Prince Albert Catholic Schools hopes a fair, just, and reasonable collective agreement can be realized. If you have any questions, call (306) 953-7500 or contact schools for school-based information.
Sincerely,
