August 4, 2021

Dear Parents/Guardians of the Prince Albert Catholic School Division,

As we prepare for the 2021-2022 school year, we know there may be many questions about the COVID-19 protocols and what school will be like in the fall. However, we plan on beginning the school year, much like we started last school year:

  • The health and safety of students and staff will remain a priority. As current health measures are still evolving, the Prince Albert Catholic School Division will closely follow Public Health and the Ministry of Education recommendations for fall 2021. We have prepared a school division plan; however, it is subject to change as health protocols may change in the Saskatchewan Primary and Secondary Educational guidelines and Re-Opening Road Map: A Gradual, Measured Approach to Easing Public Health Measures. In the coming days and weeks, please monitor our pacsd.ca website for the most up-to-date COVID -19 protocols about enhanced cleaning procedures, school operational protocols, etc.
  • We will welcome students back to school with staggered entry dates. During the first week of September 2021, each of our schools from PreK to grade 12 will be inviting students to attend school in smaller groups. The classes will be divided into two groups to accommodate a staggered entry approach to welcome students back to school. This will also provide us the opportunity to share any protocols that may be necessary. Our high school classes will also have a designated day for each grade to begin. Information is available at each school.

The following is important information you need to be aware of:

  1. Staggered Entry Dates
  • Your child(ren) will be invited to attend on Thursday, September 2, OR Friday, September 3, for smaller group days.
  • Tuesday, September 7, the entire class will be back together for in-person learning.
  1. School Supplies

Your child will require school supplies (please see the school supply lists on our website). Please also plan to send:

  • a labeled water bottle,
  • a small bottle of sanitizer (at least 70% alcohol and scent-free),
  • mask for all grades (protocols are being determined for how and when masks will be required).
  1. Drop off Information
  • Students are permitted to arrive as per each school schedule.
  • Elementary teachers will greet students outside at the start of each school day and guide them to class when the bell rings. There will be a designated door for each grade.
  • We have prepared a few support documents to help. You can find the School-Specific Plan on our Prince Albert Catholic School Division website at COVID-19 Updates – Prince Albert Catholic School Division (pacsd.ca)

We want to thank all students and parents for your cooperation and support! We look forward to seeing all of our students back to school and hope you enjoy the rest of the summer!

Yours in Catholic Education,

L. Trumier
Director of Education
