École Holy Cross

Bienvenue

École Holy Cross is a single track Kindergarten to Grade 8 French Immersion School located on the East side of the city. The school attendance area is from 6th Avenue East to east the side of the city and from the river to the southern city limits. Also included are the Osborne and East Central bus areas. Currently the student population is 330 students.

As a single track and early immersion school this means that the entire population is enrolled in French with points of entry in Kindergarten and Grade 1.

École Holy Cross welcomes all Catholic families in the attendance area who wish to offer their child the gift of a second language. If you have any questions please contact the school office at (306) 953-7551.

Our Patron Saint:

Our school is named in honour of the Holy Cross.  It is in the cross that we see the central message of our faith; that out of love for us Jesus died and rose for all of us.  In life, the cross brings us great hope.

In our daily journey, we sometimes find ourselves facing difficulty.  Jesus invites us to look to the cross for help and inspiration.  The cross helps us to remember the great love that Jesus has for us and that we can turn to him in time of need.  By looking to the sacred image of the cross, we can have faith that Jesus will help us in the difficult times in life.  The cross of Christ is great a symbol of amazing hope in life.

We celebrate the feast of the Holy Cross at our opening mass, which coincides with the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross on September 14^th.

Principal’s Message:

Welcome and Bienvenue to École Holy Cross School!

It is with great joy and gratitude that I return to École Holy Cross as Principal. Having previously served as a teacher and Vice-Principal here, I am excited to reconnect with our students, families, and staff as we begin a new school year together.

At École Holy Cross, we are proud to be a single-stream French Immersion school, offering students from Kindergarten to Grade 8 the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive in a vibrant French-language environment. Our dedicated staff work hard to create a safe, caring, and engaging school community where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential.

Our school theme, “Together We Grow” (Ensemble Nous Grandissons), reminds us that growth happens when we learn, support, and celebrate one another. As a Catholic school community, we are also guided by this years’ Prince Albert Catholic School Division theme, “Christ is Alive – He Listens to Us.” Through faith, learning, and service, we strive to help our students recognize Christ’s presence in their lives and respond to His call with kindness, compassion, and hope.

I look forward to partnering with our families and community as we continue to nurture academic excellence, faith development, and a love of the French language and culture. Together, we will create meaningful opportunities for every student to learn, belong, and grow.
