Prince Albert Catholic School Division announces Recipients of the Catholic Education Service Award for 2022-2023 School Year on World Catholic Education Day!

Prince Albert – The Prince Albert Roman Catholic Separate School Division Board of Education is proud to announce the recipients for the 2022-2023 Catholic Education Service Award on World Catholic Education Day May 18, 2023!

Prince Albert Roman Catholic Separate School Division is celebrating Catholic Education Week (May 14th to May 21st, 2023) recognizing the richness and inclusivity of Catholic education. With the theme “We are Many, We are One / L’éducation catholique: À plusieurs, nous sommes un” this annual event highlights the strength of unity in diversity within the Catholic educational community.

Catholic Education Week serves as an opportunity to recognize and appreciate the contributions made by students, parents, teachers, and staff to the Catholic education system. It emphasizes the values, teachings, and traditions that shape students’ academic, spiritual, and personal development.

Catholic Education Week is not only an occasion to celebrate the achievements and successes within the Catholic education system but also an opportunity to reflect on the important role it plays in shaping the lives of students. It is also time to acknowledge the dedication and commitment of educators and staff who are dedicated and passionate about Catholic Education. The Prince Albert Roman Catholic Separate School Division Board of Education is proud to announce the recipients for the 2022-2023 Catholic Education Service Award on World Catholic Education Day May 18, 2023! Please join us in congratulating Connie Regnier and Remi Joncas!

The Board of Education established the Catholic Education Service Award in 1998 to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to Catholic education in Prince Albert. Both recipients have been nominated due to their significant contributions to Catholic Education, and their faith community. The Board is confident that you will agree that these faithful and dedicated individuals have positively impacted our Catholic Educational Community, our school division and the schools they have worked in.

Connie Regnier is currently a Student Supports Services Teacher at St John Community School. Connie supports students with intensive needs in a special school division program. Connie attends the Paroisse St.Louis Parish and is an active member of the Catholic Women’s League. Connie is a master teacher who builds program plans for students based on their individual needs. Her compassion and joy for working with students with special needs are truly gifts she shares with staff and students.

Remi Joncas is a French Immersion teacher at Ecole St. Mary High School and has been a long-time member of the Sacred Heart Cathedral. Remi is highly involved in many forms of ministries and work in the Prince Albert Diocese. Remi is very gracious with sharing his gifts of time and talents to the students, school and parish. His has a love for the French language, technology and the great outdoors.

Board Chair Suzanne Stubbs describes “Our Board is truly grateful to this year’s recipients of the Prince Albert Catholic Service Awards. Their involvement in our schools, parishes and greater Catholic community is exemplary and we are blessed to have these individuals working with our staff and students. Our Catholic Catholic faith informs us that we are to live out our faith with Jesus as model. We are proud that Connie Regnier and Remi Joncas call our school division and Catholic education community home.”

Join us in celebrating World Catholic Education Day as we strive to provide a supportive atmosphere that makes Catholic schools a nurturing environment for students to thrive academically, spiritually, and socially.

The Board of Education would like to thank everyone for the submissions received.
