We welcome our students, along with their families and staff
back to a new school year!

Our Catholic Faith is filled with Grace.

Our three-year spiritual theme helps us to focus on the beauty of our Catholic faith.  Last year, we explored the concept of Hope.  This year, we will focus on Grace.

We know that grace is a simple word but its meaning is extremely rich and life giving.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church tells us that, “Grace is favor, the free and undeserved help that God gives us to respond to his call to become children of God, adoptive sons, partakers of the divine nature and of eternal life”.  It is up to us in our faith life to acknowledge and be open to God’s graces in the many ways He provides for us.

Grace, in essence, is the love of God given to us in blessings.  We cannot earn grace; rather it is given out of love to us.   When we stop to appreciate the work that God is doing around us, we start to see grace at work in our world. And, when we appreciate God’s graces, we can start to cooperate with the will of God to follow the greatest commandment, to love God and each other.

As we embark on our spiritual theme of Grace, we ask that you pray for our school division, and for Catholic education, as we learn more about God’s graces in our lives.

Here is a prayer that you may wish to pray.

Heavenly Father, we thank you for the gift of this school year where we focus on your Graces.
Help us to open our hearts to receiving your graces as we cooperate with your will.
Help us to walk in Your light, and live our lives in hope, love and through your graces.
Bless Catholic Education, our schools, and our families and help us to get to know you better by following the greatest commandment, to love God and each other.
We ask this through Christ, Our Lord.

Amen.
