Saskatchewan Health Authority Identifies Positive COVID-19 in an Individuals at École Holy Cross School

PRINCE ALBERT- This afternoon, officials from the Saskatchewan Health Authority identified positive COVID-19 cases in an individual in the Before and After School Care Program located École Holy Cross School. The case has not been school acquired.

Communication of a possible exposure has been shared with specific individuals, as well as the school community. The Saskatchewan Health Authority is proceeding with their assessment of the situation, and all individuals deemed to be close contacts are being notified. The cohort impacted by this case, barring any other cases, are required to Self-Isolate until midnight on December 3, 2020 and this cohort will be move to remote learning until the isolation period is complete.

École Holy Cross will operate classes November 26, 2020 for all other students and staff that are not deemed to be close contacts. Public Health officials are advising all students and staff to monitor for COVID-19 symptoms daily and not to enter the school if ill.

Thank you to the Health Authority for all of their hard work and efforts. Our thoughts and prayers are with the members of our school community, and we hope they are doing well. We all have a shared responsibility to decrease the risk of COVID-19 entering schools.

Thank you to everyone for continuing to be diligent in performing daily health screening, staying home if ill, calling HealthLine 811 if exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, practicing proper hand hygiene, maintaining physical distancing as much as possible, wearing a mask when appropriate, and doing everything we can to keep each other safe.
