Saskatchewan Health Authority Identifies A Positive Case of COVID-19 Case of Two Individuals at École St. Anne School
PRINCE ALBERT – On Monday, November 9, 2020, officials from the Saskatchewan Health Authority identified two positive COVID-19 cases at École St. Anne School. To protect privacy, we are not able to share or discuss details. These cases are deemed not to be school acquired. Communication of a possible exposure has been shared with two specific classroom/cohorts, as well as the school community.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority is proceeding with their assessment of the situation, and all individuals deemed to be close contacts will be personally notified. As an additional precaution, the Saskatchewan Health Authority has indicated that there will not be school for all École St. Anne School tomorrow. All classes at École St. Anne are cancelled Tuesday, November 10, 2020.
Students will participate in remote learning using Edsby. In-person classes will resume November 16th, 2020 for all students and staff who are not deemed to be close contacts. As the November 11,12, and 13th were already days identified as non-instructional days (no school for students), the Saskatchewan Health Authority has indicated there will be no school for École St. Anne School on November 10, 2020. All students of École St. Anne will participate with online programming tomorrow November 10, 2020. They will resume school on November 16, 2020 for in-person classes.
Public Health officials are advising all students and staff to monitor for COVID-19 symptoms daily and not to enter the school if ill. The two classrooms impacted by these cases, barring any other cases, are required to remain at home and monitor for symptoms as per timelines provided by Public Health. They are being advised to contact 811 Healthline for advice if they become symptomatic.
The students and families of École St. Anne School will be receiving any updates using the Edsby Portal. Thank you to the Health Authority for all of their hard work and efforts. Thank you to the families of École St. Anne for remaining diligent with COVID-19 protocols. Our thoughts and prayers are with the members of our school community, and we hope they are doing well. We all have a shared responsibility to decrease the risk of COVID-19 entering schools. Thank you to everyone for continuing to be diligent in performing daily health screening, staying home if ill, calling Health Line 811 if exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, practicing proper hand hygiene, maintaining physical distancing as much as possible, wearing a mask when appropriate, and doing everything we can to keep each other safe.
