World Day of Prayer for Priests

June 8th marks the worldwide day of prayer for Priests.  This day, which began in 2002 by Saint John Paul II, strives to have all Catholics join in prayer for church leaders.  As the world day of prayers for priest approaches, we wish to thank all Priests and Religious for their hard work and dedication to our Prince Albert Catholic School Division and our community. The modeling of their lives give us an example of how to be a disciple of Christ.  Here is a sample of a prayer that can be prayed on June 8th

Almighty and eternal God, we pray for those whom you call to serve the Church of as Priests and religious. Grant them wisdom and vision to serve your people.  May their lives call your people to respond to the presence of your Spirit among us that, faithful to the Gospel and hope of Jesus the Christ, we may announce glad tidings to the poor, proclaim liberty to captives, set prisoners free, and renew the face of the earth.

Amen.
