Welcome
St. Michael Community School is the result of the amalgamation of St. Michael K to 5 Community School and Msgr. Boucher Junior High School. St. Michael K to 5 Community School first opened in 1953, serving students from kindergarten to grade six. Msgr. Boucher Junior High originally began in 1960, as Our Lady of Providence Institute, operated by the Sisters of Providence.
It was later renamed Msgr. Boucher Junior High when it was taken over by Prince Albert Separate School Division No. 6. St. Michael is currently designated a community school and, in conjunction with community members and agencies, focuses on the meeting the diverse needs of its students.
Our Patron Saint:
Our school is named after St. Michael, the Archangel. From the Catechism of the Catholic Church, we hear that our whole life benefits from the mysterious and powerful help of angels. Angels do the work of God.
St. Michael is an angel of supreme power and is one of the leaders of the heavenly angels. The Archangel Michael is named a number of times in the bible and is one who showed great dedication and love of God.
St. Michael’s virtues of strength, perseverance, and doing what is right and just is important to us at St. Michael School. St. Michael’s feast day is September 29th and we celebrate him at our assemblies and Thanksgiving celebration.

Principal’s Message:
Welcome to all St. Michael Community School members. We are excited to share our Catholic educational experience with you for the 2025-2026 school year. St. Michael has always had a rich tradition of being more than a school; it is a community that is wrapped in learning, faith, caring and kindness. We look forward to strengthening the bond between school, home and parish as we walk alongside our families as we journey together this year.
As your principal I look forward to sharing this experience with you and look forward to getting to know each and every one of you. Our theme for this year is Celebrating Christ’s Presence. The Holy Spirit reminds and inspires each of us to use Christ’s teaching as an example. The Holy Spirit is also central in helping us celebrate Christ’s presence here on Earth.
Each one of you is made perfectly in God’s image. Be the gift that you are to our school to help make our school the place it needs to be, I promise to try to do the same.
God Bless, and remember With the Spirit We Soar.
Mark Phaneuf
